In 1978 Bruce McIntyre and two of his friends John Miller and John Guess started the company, which was acquired by Imperial Holding in March 2008. Engineparts Turbochargers has now been servicing the Automotive Parts Aftermarket for the past 40 years with Quality Parts backed by a 12 month warranty. Engineparts Turbochargers has one of the best On-Line Catalogues “E-Part” in the industry and currently we have 320 customers linked on to our catalogue with 1,200 users doing look ups and placing their orders directly on-line with us. The system also allows them to track the ordering process from placing the order to despatching of the order.

When the company was formed in 1978 it was based on the principle of Customer Centricity instead of Branch Centricity, this lead to implementing a unique delivery system to service our clients on a daily basis in South Africa, Lesotho and Namibia. The way this unique delivery system was implemented was to supply our customers with a delivery box, currently we have 1,200 of these delivery drop boxes at our customers which are serviced on a daily basis.

We also have a 4 daily delivery runs that leave at 10.30 to:

  1. Ladybrand, Ficksburg and Bethlehem.
  2. Welkom and Kroonstad.
  3. Kimberly, Christiana, Hartswater and Hertzogville.
  4. Delareyville, Wesselsbron, Wolmeransstad.

Every night our deliveries are despatched and the total distance travelled to deliver to our customers are a staggering 16,730 Km per day, which is made up of 1,600 parcels to 1,200 destinations in South Africa, Lesotho and Namibia. All deliveries are done by 10.00 am the next morning except for Namibia which is delivered by 13.00 pm.

Availability

We are the supplier of all the recognised OEM brands to the aftermarket. We have 44,000 active parts to choose from and these are housed in our warehouse of 12,000 square meters. Our goal is to maintain our current levels of availability at 95% at first pick to ensure that you have the right part, the first time, at the right time, at the right price. We replenish our stock on a weekly basis to ensure that our service level to you our valued and prospective customers are maintained.

Our on-line catalogue

The ePart on-line catalogue has 2,014,743 part number references from OEM numbers to supplier part numbers by brand and make, this assists you our customer as well as our salesman to ensure that you will always get the right part.

Currently 60 percent of our sales are done with our on-line customers and 35 percent of our total sales are done directly by our on-line users without any intervention from Engineparts Turbochargers or our sales force.

We have 3 representatives that visit customers on a regular basis and ensure that training are done for new staff at customer level, this can be done during or after hours as per our customer’s request.
